My favorite project lately has been an old-timey flour bin. It had a light oak finish on it, so I sanded it down and painted it, then distressed it. It has a "metal" funnel and lid on a drawer. (not sure on the historically accurate description of this, but I think it's a potato bin? If you know please send me a message!)
Anyway, after looking at this incredible artisan's work, I contacted her about creating the metal look on the funnel and lid. She gave me great advice, and even though I can't compare with her expertise, I did it!
The finishing touched are yet to be added to this piece of history. I still want to make up my mind about drawer pulls, and I have ordered wallpaper for it as well.
